12.   Book to be kept by District Registrar, and fees payable to him or her

    (1)   A district registrar shall keep a book in which he or she shall enter minutes of the notices of vaccination given by him or her as required under this Act, and also register the certificates transmitted to him or her, and shall at all reasonable times allow searches to be made in the book, and upon demand give a copy under his or her hand, or under that of his or her deputy, of any entry in the same, on payment of a fee of $0.12 for each search and $0.06 for each copy, to be paid by the person making the search or requiring the copy.

    (2)   A district registrar shall receive a fee of $0.06 in respect of every child whose birth he or she has registered and in respect of whom he or she gives the notice, and another fee of $0.12 in respect of every such child whose certificates in Form 1 or 3 he or she has registered, and he or she shall receive a fee of $0.12 in respect of each child whose certificate in the Form 1 or 3 he or she has registered without having registered the birth; the fee in the last 3 cases being payable from public funds. However, a fee shall not be charged for any search made by a public vaccinator, or by any justice of the peace or medical or revenue officer.
