5.   Further proceedings after performance of vaccination

  1.  

    (1)   After any operation of vaccination is performed, the parent shall again take the child, or cause it to be taken, to the medical officer or other public vaccinator, at such time and place as may have been appointed by the medical officer or public vaccinator at the time of the operation, the time being 8 days after such operation, and that place being not more distant from the residence of such parent than the nearest place appointed for the attendance of a medical officer under the Medical Officers Act or being a place of equal convenience to the parent and to the vaccinator.

    (2)   When such child is again brought, the medical officer or other public vaccinator shall inspect such child, and ascertain the result of the operation.

    (3)   In the event of the vaccination having been unsuccessful the parent shall, if the medical officer or other public vaccinator so directs, cause the child to be immediately again vaccinated and inspected as on the previous occasion.
