22. Punishment of person producing smallpox in another person
A person who produces or attempts to produce on any person, by inoculation with variolous matter, or by wilful exposure to variolous matter or any matter, article, or thing impregnated with variolous matter, or wilfully, by any other means whatsoever, produces smallpox in any person, on conviction is liable to imprisonment, with or without hard labour, for any term not exceeding one year.
