44A.   Forgery and uttering documents

  1.  

    (1)   A person shall not—

    1.  

      (a)     forge a document;

    1.  

      (b)     knowingly utter a document that is forged;

    1.  

      (c)     pretend to be a person named in a document, whether or not the person is referred to in the document.

    (2)   A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $250,000 or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or both.
