2. Interpretation
In this Act —
“Act of the Organisation” means an Act enacted by the OECS Authority within the area of the legislative competence of the Organisation pursuant to Articles 8.10 and 14 of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union;
“Article” means an Article of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union;
“legislative instrument” means an instrument in writing that is of a legislative character and is enacted by the OECS Council of Ministers to give effect to an Act of the Organisation pursuant to Articles 9.3 and 14 of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union;
“Minister” means the Minister responsible for the implementation of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union;
“OECS” or “Organisation” means the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States established under the Treaty of Basseterre 1981 and continued under Article 2 of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union;
“OECS Authority” means the Authority of Heads of Government of the Member States of the OECS established by Article 7.1 (a) of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union;
“Organisation legislation” means Acts of the Organisation and legislative instruments of the Organisation enacted in the areas of legislative competence of the Organisation pursuant to Article 14 of the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union, and set out in Schedule 2;
“Protocol of the Eastern Caribbean Economic Union” means the Protocol of the Eastern Caribbean Economic Union to the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union the text of which is set out in Schedule 1;
“Treaty of Basseterre 1981” means the Treaty establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States done at Basseterre on 18 June 1981;
“Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union” means the Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Economic Union done at Castries on the 18 June 2010, the text of which is set out in Schedule 1.
