(1) The Board shall, appoint annually an external auditor who shall be responsible for auditing the accounts of the medical complex.
(2) An external auditor appointed under subsection (1) shall not be appointed for more than 2 consecutive years.
(3) An external auditor appointed by the Board has a right of access at all reasonable times to the books, accounts, vouchers and other records of the Board and is entitled to require from officers of the Board such information and explanations as he or she considers necessary for the performance of his or her duties as external auditor.
(4) The Director of Audit may demand the production of financial and accounting records of the medical complex for audit under section 5 of the Finance (Administration) Act.
