17.   Policy directions, request for information and reporting

  1.  

    (1)   The Minister may give general directions as to the policy to be followed by the Board in the performance of its functions and exercise of its powers, as appear to the Minister to be necessary in the public interest.

    (2)   The Minister may at any time request the Board to provide him or her with information concerning any matter relating to the functions of the Board or medical complex or that the Minister considers to be in the public interest and the Board shall provide the information requested within 14 days of such request or within such other period as may be specified by the Minister.

    (3)   The Board shall ensure that all documentation relating to the functions and powers of the Board are made available to the Minister upon its dissolution or merger.
