82.   Directions by minister

  1.  

    (1)   The Minister may give the Board a written direction in relation to a matter relevant to the performance of its functions under this Act, if the Minister is satisfied that it is necessary to give the direction in the public interest.

    (2)   Without limiting subsection (1), the direction may be to—

    1.  

      (a)     give reports and information; or

    1.  

      (b)     apply to the Council a policy, standard or other instrument applying to a public sector unit.

    (3)   A direction issued under subsection (1) shall not be in relation to—

    1.  

      (a)     the registration or refusal of an applicant;

    1.  

      (b)     the suspension or revocation of a licence issued under this Act; or

    1.  

      (c)     the imposing or removal of conditions on the registration of an applicant.
