(1) An authorized officer shall not, without the consent in writing given by or on behalf of the Minister, publish or disclose to another person, otherwise than is necessary in the course of his or her duties, the contents of any documents, communication or information which relate to his or her duties and have come to his or her knowledge in the course of his or her duties under this Act.
(2) An authorized officer who contravenes this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
