33. Jurisdiction of magistrate
All claims to recover possession of small holdings and all disputes and differences arising out of contracts of tenancy shall be within the jurisdiction of a magistrate and shall be heard and determined on the civil side of the district court; and the provisions of the District Court Act shall apply, with the necessary modifications, to all proceedings brought before a magistrate by virtue of this Act so far as the same can be made applicable thereto and are not inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Act.
