24.   Preservation of Secrecy of Affairs of the Bank

  1.  

    (1)   A person employed by the Bank or having any duty to perform under this Act shall preserve and aid in preserving secrecy with regard to all matters relating to the affairs of the Bank that may come to his or her knowledge in the course of his or her duties and shall, if so required by the Bank, make and subscribe a declaration of secrecy in the form prescribed before a Magistrate.

    (2)   A person shall not —

    1.  

      (a)     communicate any matter referred to in subsection (1) to any person other than a Director or any officer of the Bank authorised in that behalf by the Managing Director; or

      (b)     permit any unauthorised person to have access to any books, papers or records relating to the Bank.

    (3)   A person who contravenes subsection (2) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month.
