(1) Where an area has been declared a special development area under the Special Development Areas Act, Part 2 of this Act applies to such area.
(2) Invest Saint Lucia may, where it is satisfied that it is necessary to do so, in order to better carry out its functions under this Act, request in writing, the Minister responsible for finance to specify an area as a special development area in accordance with the Special Development Areas Act.
(3) The Minister of finance acts in his or her discretion in considering a request made under subsection (2).
