20.   Refusing to give name or address or giving false name or address

  1.  

    (1)   If the driver of any motor vehicle who commits an offence under this Act or any regulations made under it, refuses to give his or her name and address, or gives a false name or address to a police officer or any person having reasonable ground for making such request, he or she commits an offence under this Act.

    (2)   It shall be the duty of the owner of the vehicle, if required, to give any information which is within his or her power to give and which may lead to the identification and apprehension of the driver referred to in subsection (1) and if the owner fails to do so he or she commits an offence.
