20.   Disposal of immovables

  1.  

    (1)     Where lands within the State are held as Glebe or Vestry lands by the Cure or Vestry of a Parish in the State, the Minister, on being satisfied by a report from the Commissioner of Crown Lands that the boundaries of such Glebe or Vestry lands are demarcated, may by an Order published in the Gazette declare such lands to be duly vested in the appropriate Vestry as owner.

    (2)     The Vestry of any parish, or the churchwarden of any parish, acting under the directions of such Vestry, shall not sell, exchange or otherwise dispose of any immoveable property being part of the temporalities under the administration of such Vestry, and grant any lease of such property, or alter the conditions of any existing lease, without the consent in writing of the Bishop. In default of such consent all sales, alienations or leases of such property shall be null and void to all intents and purposes.
