25.   Duties of persons suffering from contagious or infectious disease

Where any person in a hospital is suffering from a contagious or infectious disease, it is lawful for the Medical Superintendent or the Medical Officer in charge of such hospital to detain such person therein for such time as may in his or her judgment be necessary for the purpose of protecting the public against the spread of such contagious or infectious disease, and for such purpose to all reasonable measures to restrain such person therein and to prevent his or her escape.
