(1) The Superintendent of Police shall be the Chief Immigration Officer for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act.
(2) Cabinet may from time to time appoint such immigration officers as it thinks fit.
(3) The Chief Immigration Officer may by writing under his or her hand authorize any member of the police force, subject to such directions as he or she may give, to act as an immigration officer.
(4) Every appointment or authorization under this section shall be published in the Gazette.
(5) For the purpose of performing his or her duties under this Act an immigration officer may, with such assistance as he or she may think fit, board and search a vessel arriving in Saint Lucia.
