If any society neglects or refuses—
(a) to give any notice, send any return or document, or do or allow to be done anything which the society is by this Act required to give, send, do, or allow to be done; or
(b) to do any act or furnish any information required for the purpose of this Act by the Registrar or by an inspector, the society, and also every officer thereof bound by the rules thereof to fulfil the duty a breach of which has been committed, and if there is no such officer then every member of the committee of management or board of directors of the society, unless it appears that he or she was ignorant of or attempted to prevent the breach,
shall for each offence be liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of $100, and, in the case of a continuing offence, to an additional fine of $25 for every week during which the offence continues.
