Departments

The Advice and Litigation Department comprises, the Legal Professional Staff and the Legal Administrative Staff making a total of Nineteen (19) officers.

The National Anti-Money Laundering Oversight Committee (NAMLOC) manages all CFATF related matters. The Unit is primarily responsible for coordinating the national anti-money laundering/counter terrorism financing activities of Saint Lucia.

The Administration Unit’s main function is to provide support to the other Units within the Attorney General’s Chambers. The Unit co-ordinates all operational matters to ensure the efficient performance of Chambers.

The Registry of Companies and Intellectual Property was established under Act No. 12 of 2000, now cited as Cap. 13.02 of the Revised Laws of Saint Lucia – the Companies and Intellectual Property (Registry) Act. This Act provides the framework for the creation and administration of a modern and efficient companies and intellectual property registry. The Registry is mandated to register, regulate, and protect companies, businesses, and intellectual property rights. It serves as a secure, transparent, and efficient platform that enables stakeholders to establish, manage, and safeguard their business and creative assets. Through its services, the Registry fosters trust in the business environment, promotes compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and supports sustainable economic growth and innovation.

The Legislative Drafting Unit (the Unit) is accountable to the Attorney General for the drafting of legislation (in the form of a Bill or Statutory Instrument) or the approval of laws prepared by other Government Ministries or Departments and regional bodies including the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States, the Caribbean Community and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, for the periodic revision of the Revised Edition of the Laws of Saint Lucia as the Attorney General is the Law Revision Commissioner under the Revised Edition of the Laws Act, Cap. 1.07 and the interpretation of laws.
