Schedule

(Section 7(2))

MEETINGS OF THE BOARD

  1.  

    1.   The Board shall meet at such times as may be necessary or expedient for transacting its business.

    2.   The chairperson may at any time summon a meeting of the Board and on a requisition by any 3 members he shall summon a meeting. Such requisition shall state the object for which the meeting is required to be summoned.

    3.   In cases in which the chairperson shall so direct, decisions of the Board may be taken by the recording of the opinions of members on papers circulated among them. Where papers are circulated, the chairperson may direct that the papers shall not be circulated to any member who through interest, illness, absence from the island or otherwise is, in the opinion of the chairperson, incapacitated from voting on such papers.

    4.   The quorum of the Board at any meeting or for the purpose of voting on papers circulated shall be 4, but subject thereto, the Board may act despite any vacancy in the number of its members.

    5.   The decisions of the Board shall be by the majority of votes. In any case in which the voting shall be equal, the chairperson shall have a second or casting vote.

    6.   In the absence of the chairperson and deputy chairperson, the members present shall appoint one of their numbers to act as chairperson of any meeting.

    7.   Minutes of each meeting shall be confirmed by the chairperson at the next succeeding meeting. Certified copies of such minutes when so confirmed shall be forwarded to the Minister.

LIVESTOCK AND MEAT MARKETING DEVELOPMENT BOARD (PRICES) RULES – SECTION 16

Commencement [13 February 1965]

1.   Citation

These Rules may be cited as the Livestock and Meat Marketing Development Board (Prices) Rules.

2.   Definition

In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires—

Act” means the Livestock and Meat Marketing Development Board Act;

Board” means the Livestock and Meat Marketing Development Board established under section 3(1) of the Act;

retail” refers to the sale of goods in any quantity less than a side;

side” in relation to wholesale unit means ½ of the carcass of the animal;

wholesale” means as regards the articles specified in the Schedules, any quantity not less than a side.

3.   Maximum Prices of Goods in Schedule 1

The prices set out in Schedule 1 are the maximum prices at which the articles enumerated therein may be sold in the Island.

4.   Maximum Prices of Goods in Schedule 2

The prices set out in Schedule 2 are the maximum prices at which the articles enumerated therein may be purchased by the Board.

5.   Penalty

Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with the provisions of any of these Rules is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $100, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month, or to both such fine and imprisonment.
