2. Interpretation
In this Act—
“appointments” include transfers;
“approved teacher” in relation to an assisted secondary school means a teacher who in the opinion of the Board of Management or other Relevant Authority of such school is suitable for appointment as a teacher of such school;
“Board of Management” means a Board having the management and control of one or more assisted schools;
“Commission” means the Teaching Service Commission established by section 3;
“manager” means the person appointed by a Board of Management for the purpose of exercising such powers and performing such duties as are conferred or imposed on him by this Act;
“Minister” means the Minister to whom responsibility for Education has been assigned;
“Relevant Authority” means the person or body of persons selected to represent the assisted secondary schools;
“teacher” means a person qualified, recognised or registered as such by the Ministry of Education.
