7.   Legal proceedings

  1.  

    (1)   All actions and proceedings by or on behalf of or against the Church may be brought or defended by and in the name of the agents and of “the President of the Methodist Conference in the Caribbean and the Americas” by that description for and on behalf of the Church and the death or incapacity of the agents or the President for the time being of the Conference or the expiration of his or her term of office or any act or thing done or suffered by him or her shall not abate or affect any such action or proceeding.

    (2)   Any writ, notice or other process in any such action or proceeding shall be sufficiently served on the Church if served personally on the agents or on the President or Secretary for the time being of the Conference or left at the office of the agents or of the Conference.

    (3)   Any affidavit, statutory or other declaration or other similar document required from or desired by the Church may be made by the agents or the President, Vice President or Secretary for the time being of the Conference for and on behalf of the Church.

    (4)   Every President, Vice President and Secretary of the Conference and the agents shall be indemnified out of the funds of the Church against all loss, damages, costs and expense which he or she may sustain by reason of anything done to or by him or her in pursuance of this Act.
