6.   Gunpowder in magazine over 2 years how dealt with

  1.  

    (1)   If any gunpowder be not removed from the Store or Magazine within the period specified in the foregoing section such gunpowder shall, after one month's notice by advertisement in the Gazette, be sold at the instance of the Director of Finance and Planning and the proceeds thereof shall be applied to the payment of all rent, dues, and charges thereon; and the surplus, if any, shall be paid to the importer of such gunpowder if claimed by him or her within 6 months of the sale; and if not claimed such surplus shall be carried to the credit of the General Revenue.

    (2)   If the amount realised by the sale of such gun-powder is not sufficient to meet the rent, dues, and charges thereon, the difference may be recovered from the importer as a debt to Saint Lucia at the instance of the Director of Finance and Planning.
