(1) Subject to the provisions of section 7 of the Act every exporter of coconut produce shall pay to the Accountant General an amount which shall be levied at the rate of $3.60 on every ton of copra or its equivalent as fixed by him or her, or other coconut produce exported from Saint Lucia.
(2) The amount to be paid by an exporter of coconut produce under subsection (1) shall be levied and collected within 90 days after the date of exportation or, in the case of coconut produce exported before the date of the publication of this Act, within 90 days after the date of such publication.
(3) In default of payment when due of any amount payable under this section by an exporter of coconut produce, such amount, together with interest at the rate of 6% per year from the date the payment became due under subsection (2) shall be recoverable by the Accountant General from the exporter as a debt due to the Crown.
