(1) Subject to the provisions of this section, if any citizen of full age and capacity who for the purpose of becoming a citizen of another country makes and registers in the prescribed manner a declaration of renunciation of his or her citizenship of Saint Lucia he or she shall cease to be a citizen as from the date of the registration.
(2) Where during any war in which Saint Lucia is engaged a declaration is made under this section by a person who is about to become a citizen of another country that declaration shall not come into effect without the consent of the Minister.
