A person who, for the purposes of procuring anything to be done or not to be done in connection with the provisions of this Act knowingly or recklessly makes a statement which is false in a material particular commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500 or to imprisonment for 6 months or to both such fine and imprisonment.
