(1) Every occupier of land and every person in control of a vehicle shall comply with any requirements —
(a) for waste handling, separation and processing; and
(b) prohibiting the disposal of specific types of waste for which a reuse, recycling or composting alternative is available, which may be prescribed under this Act or regulations made under this Act —
(i) by the Minister; or
(ii) by the Planning Authority.
(2) Any person who fails to comply with any requirement prescribed under this Act, or regulations made under this Act, or imposed by the Minister or the Planning Authority, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of not more than $5,000 or to imprisonment for not more than one year or to both.
