Service personnel may—
(a) at the time of their first arrival to take up service in Saint Lucia and at the time of the first arrival of any dependant to join them, import personal effects and furniture free of customs duty and any tax; and
(b) import, free of customs duty and any tax, private motor vehicles for personal use of themselves and their dependants temporarily,
but paragraph (b) shall not be construed as granting or authorising the granting of any exemption from taxes or fees in respect of the licensing or the registration of private vehicles or the use of the roads by private vehicles in Saint Lucia.
