10.   Offence- influencing Commission

A person, other than a public officer in the course of his or her duty, who directly or indirectly by himself or herself or by any other person in any manner whatsoever influences or attempts to influence any decision of the Commission or of any member commits an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to a fine not exceeding $500.

However, nothing in this section shall prohibit any person who may properly do so from giving a certificate or testimonial to any applicant or candidate for any public office or from supplying any information or assistance upon formal request by the Commission.
