2. Interpretation
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—
“chairperson” means the chairperson of the Commission;
“Commission” means the Public Service Commission established under section 85 of the Constitution of Saint Lucia;
“member” means a member or temporary member of the Commission and includes the chairperson;
“public office” means any office of emolument in the public service and includes the offices of Inspector and gazetted officers of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force;
“public officer” means a person holding or acting in any public office;
“public service” means service of the Crown in a civil capacity in respect of the government of Saint Lucia and service as an Inspector or gazetted officer of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force but does not include service as a member of the Commission or as a member of any board, panel or committee or other similar body (whether incorporated or not) established by law.
