(1) A hirer shall not willfully and forcibly obstruct or resist an owner who is lawfully exercising any power of taking possession of the goods comprised in a hire-purchase agreement.
(2) A hirer who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $5000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
