(1) A hirer shall not purport to sell any goods comprised in a hire-purchase agreement or remove or attempt to remove those goods or do any other act in relation to those goods for the purpose of selling the goods.
(2) A hirer who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $5000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
