A person commits an offence punishable on summary conviction and is liable to a penalty not exceeding $50—
(a) who brands with any brand, or place any mark likely to be permanent on any cattle, before the expiration of 14 days from the date of giving the notice under section 3;
(b) who brands or marks in any manner likely to be permanent any cattle, with any brand or mark other than the brand or mark specified in the notice given by him or her;
(c) who brands or marks in any manner likely to be permanent any cattle, on any part of the animal other than the part specified in the notice given by him or her; or
(d) who uses any brand or mark after an intimation from the Commissioner of Police has been duly served upon him or her that such brand or mark is not to be used.
