3. Notice of intention to brand
A person shall not brand with any brand or shall not mark with any mark likely to be permanent, any cattle, until the expiration of 14 days after he or she has given at the chief police station of the district wherein he or she resides, or wherein his or her farm is situate or his or her cattle are kept, a notice under his or her hand in the Form in Form A of the Schedule, specifying the brand or mark which such person intends to use for the purpose of marking the cattle belonging to him or her, or in his or her custody, or under his or her control, and further specifying on what part of the body of the animal he or she intends to place such brand or mark; which notice shall state the name in full and the place of residence of the person giving the notice and the name of the owner or owners of the cattle in respect of which the brands or marks are proposed to be used.
