19.   Prohibitions on slaughter

A person whether a licensed butcher or not who slaughters or causes to be slaughtered in any place—

  1.  

    (a)     any cow or heifer without the permission of designated officer; or

  1.  

    (b)     any animal which is known to be or appears to be in calf, in lamb, in kid, or in pig,

    is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $250. (Substituted by Act 15 of 1977)
