2. Interpretation
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—
“Officer” means every person permanently or temporarily employed in the public service of Saint Lucia and includes any officer of the Windward Islands;
“salary” includes all pensionable emoluments;
“station” means any place, district or parish in which an officer is for the time being resident in the performance of the duties of his or her office;
“travelling” includes an officer's stay at any place other than his or her station, but only when such stay has been unavoidable or otherwise necessary in the interest of the public service; and if any question shall arise as to whether such stay was unavoidable or necessary the decision of the Governor General thereon shall be final.
