4.   Designated authorities

1.  

   (1)   For the purposes of Article 6 of the Convention, the following authorities are competent to issue an Apostille certificate — (Amended by 22 of 2011)

   1.  

      (a)     The Permanent Secretary, Ministry responsible for Foreign Affairs;

   1.  

      (b)     The Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry responsible for Foreign Affairs;

   1.  

      (c)     The Permanent Secretary, Ministry responsible for Finance;

   1.  

      (d)     The Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property;

   1.  

      (e)     The Registrar of the Supreme Court;

   1.  

      (f)     The Solicitor General.

   (2)   Notwithstanding subsection (1), Cabinet may designate any authority to issue a Apostille Certificate. (Amended by 22 of 2011)
