9.   Appointment, powers, and duties of trustees

1.  

   (1)   The Church Council shall have power to appoint 3 persons as Trustees, of whom the Bishop shall be one, and who are hereby incorporated as “The Trustees of the Anglican Church in Saint Lucia” in whom may be and hereby are vested, for the use and benefit of the said Church, the Churches, Churchyards, Burial-grounds, Glebe, and other lands at present held and possessed by the said Church in the Parishes or Districts of Castries, Soufriere, Choiseul, and Vieux-Fort.

   (2)   The Trustees shall also have power to acquire, hold, disburse, and dispose of money, lands, buildings and other property for the use and benefit of the said Church, as the same may be from time to time ordered by the Church Council.

   (3)   The Trustees may have a common seal, and may institute, maintain, and defend all actions or other proceedings for the defence and protection of their rights.
