(1) The Committee consists of 5 members —
(a) the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture or his or her delegate; (Amended by Act 8 of 2022)
(b) the Director of Agricultural Services;
(c) the Chief Fisheries Officer; and
(d) two other persons and 2 alternates appointed by the Minister. (Amended by Act 8 of 2022)

(1A) The persons and alternates appointed under subsection (1)(d) must have experience, and have shown capacity, in matters relating to —
(a) natural resources;
(b) fisheries;
(c) agriculture;
(d) law;
(e) marketing;
(f) finance; and
(g) accounts.

(1B) The two alternates appointed under subsection (1)(d) shall act for the duration of the absence or inability of the 2 persons appointed under that subsection. (Inserted by Act 8 of 2022)
(2) The Minister may, by Notice in the Gazette appoint the members of the Committee.
(3) The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture shall be the chairperson of the Committee.
(4) The secretary of the Committee shall be a public officer designated by the Minister. (Amended by Act 8 of 2022)
