PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES OF THE SPECIALISED AGENCIES OF THE UNITED NATIONS

4.   Application of the Convention

  1.  

    (1)   Subject to this Act, the Articles set out in Schedule 2 (being Articles of the Convention) have the force of law in Saint Lucia and shall be construed in accordance with the provisions of this section.

    (2)   In the Articles referred to in subsection (1)—

    1.  

      (a)     the reference in section 3 of Article 11 to the effect that the Specialised Agencies shall possess juridical personality shall be construed as meaning that the Specialised Agencies are bodies corporate within the meaning of section 19 of the Interpretation Act;

      (b)     the term “national” in relation to Saint Lucia shall be construed as meaning a citizen of Saint Lucia or any person entitled to be registered as such.
