(1) The Central Bank or a system participant shall retain all records obtained by the Central Bank operation system participant during the course of operation and administration of a funds transfer system or settlement system for a period of at least 7 years from the date of creation of that record.
(2) The retention of records under subsection (1) may be effected by electronic means.
