28.   Prohibition on resisting arrest

  1.  

    (1)   A person shall not—

    1.  

      (a)     assault, resist, obstruct or intimidate another person in the performance of that other person's functions under this Act; or

    1.  

      (b)     use indecent, abusive or insulting language to another person in the performance of that other person's functions under this Act.

    (2)   A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and upon summary conviction is liable to a fine of $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term of one year or to both.
