55. Appropriation of property forfeited and of penalties recovered
The proceeds of sale of any property forfeited under the provisions of this Act, and the amount of any penalty recovered under this Act, shall be paid into the Treasury for the use of the State.
However, the Minister responsible for Finance may award any portion of such proceeds or of such penalty not exceeding 1/2 to the revenue officer or police officer or other person concerned in the seizure of such forfeited property, or in the recovery of such penalty. (Amended by Act 9 of 1996)
