3.   Notice to Marriage Officer of intended marriage

In case any person residing in Saint Lucia intends entering into bonds of matrimony to be solemnized in any foreign country under the provisions and with the benefit of the Foreign Marriage Act, 1892, of the United Kingdom and the orders in council made thereunder, he or she, on payment of the like fee, if any, as is payable on giving a notice of marriage within Saint Lucia shall give a notice in writing of the said intended marriage either (a) to the district registrar in whose district he or she has, for a period of not less than 3 consecutive weeks immediately preceding the giving of such notice, had his or her usual place of abode, or (b) to the minister of religion (being a status officer) of the congregation to which he or she shall have belonged, or is considered to have been attached, during the period aforesaid, or if not belonging or not considered to be attached to any congregation then, to any minister of religion being a status officer of the parish in which he or she has resided for the said period of not less than 3 weeks immediately preceding the giving of such notice. Such notice shall conform to the requirements of article 97 of the Civil Code.
