(1) The Minister shall take such measures as he or she thinks fit under this Act to promote the management and development of fisheries, so as to ensure the optimum utilization of the fisheries resources in the fishery waters for the benefit of Saint Lucia.
(2) There may be appointed—
(a) a Chief Fisheries Officer; and
(b) such other fisheries officers (assistant fisheries officers) and other officers as may be necessary to give effect to this Act.
