160. Prisoners may be taken for examination by writ of habeas corpus

(1) It shall be lawful for the magistrate, gaoler or other officer having the custody of any inmate, to take such inmate for examination under the authority of this Act, by virtue of a writ of habeas corpus to be issued for that purpose.

(2) A writ under subsection (1) may be issued by the High Court or a Judge.
