20.   Confidential information

  1.  

    (1)   Notwithstanding the International Banks Act, Cap. 12.17, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority Act, Cap. 12.23, the Registered Agent and Trustee Licensing Act, Cap. 12.12 or any other law that restricts the disclosure of confidential information, a relevant entity shall communicate or allow to be communicated confidential information in an economic substance return required to be reported by the Competent Authority under an international agreement.

    (2)   A relevant entity that contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both.
