(1) The Chairperson or Mayor of a Council may resign from office by submitting a written notice of resignation to the Minister and ceases to be the Chairperson or Mayor and a member from the date the Minster receives the notice, unless another date of resignation is provided for in the notice.
(2) A member other than the Chairperson or Mayor may resign from office by submitting a written notice of resignation to the Minister through the Chairperson or Mayor of a Council and ceases to be a member from the date the Minister receives the notice.
