(1) This Act does not affect the rights or claims of any person appointed under the repealed Acts or the pension or gratuity of any person who, prior to the coming into operation of this Act, would have been entitled to such a pension or gratuity and such a person shall be deemed to have been appointed under this Act and all such rights and claims to such pension or gratuity shall be preserved and settled in accordance with the provisions of the Pensions Act and any other relevant law.
(2) A person who immediately before the coming into operation of this Act, was an employee of a Council under a repealed Act continues to be an employee of a Council, unless otherwise determined by that Council.
