35.   Regulations

  1.  

    (1)   The Minister may make Regulations for the proper carrying out of the provisions of this Act.

    (2)   Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the Minister may make Regulations —

    1.  

      (a)     to make provision for any technical progress relating to clinical trials;

    1.  

      (b)     to take account of international regulatory developments in the field of clinical trials;

    1.  

      (c)     to improve the information on the safety of medicinal products or medical devices;

    1.  

      (d)     to prescribe fees;

    1.  

      (e)     to specify the procedure of the Ethics Committee at meetings of the Ethics Committee.

    (3)   Regulations made under this section may provide that the contravention of any provision constitutes an offence and may specify penalties for any offence on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 2 years or to both fine and imprisonment.
