8. Prosecution of offences
Proceedings for an offence under this Act shall not be instituted except by or with the consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions, but the foregoing provisions of this section shall not prevent the arrest, or the issue of a warrant for the arrest, of any person in respect of any offence, or the remanding in custody or on bail of any person charged with an offence.
